Why Does your Child Need Games to Learn English?

As we all know, young children naturally are more distracted and have short attention spans. It is necessary to take things ‘their way’ to make them concentrate. Also, for those children whose mother tongue is not English, this is even more of a daunting task. Hence, it is highly important to introduce children to games to learn English at a fairly early time of their infancy.
Let’s see the advantages games have in facilitating the mindset of the child in English comprehension!

  • Hard Work made Easy: When a child is playing a game (any game), he/she transcends space/time as an engrossing is achieved in one’s work. This simplifies concepts and does not personalize issues.
  • Reference to Contexts: The storyline which games to learn English provide an associative relative context which helps children in their memory, in grasping foundational concepts of basic English and contexts in which certain words and alphabets are used.
  • Interactive: Games to learn English are interactive, so it is natural that they are fun and engaging. They are always a respite from doing some complicated boring activity by yourself. Due to the interactive nature of games, they can make learning really voluntary!
  • Speed: Games can do what no other teaching can-it can facilitate a speedy understanding of concepts which a text book can take painfully long time to do!
  • Easy to Learn: It is necessary to make sure that games to learn English must not be so complicated so as to consume a lot of time and become a hurdle to learning English. They should be simple and interesting and act as a catalyst (and complementary service) to learning English.

  • Creativity and Imagination: It is important to encourage the originality of children through games. A perfect nurturing platform can be found in games for children and these platforms force children to think and make decisions on their own.
  • Group Dynamics: Making children socially-active and enabling them to function within a group is an integral function of games to learn English. It is important to develop SQ (Social Quotient), and in the rush to learn IQ (Intelligent Quotient) this is forgotten. By playing multiplayer online games, the quality of co-ordination and teamwork is imbibed in the children.
  • Different Avenues: Games are responsible to add different ways for learning concepts. This can be accomplished through different storylines and background graphics settings. So they offer variety and diversity in their delivery style.  As we all know, children are different in their likes and tastes and no two individuals are the same. Hence, this can become a viable option for children with various learning disorders!

As the 21st century continues to unravel, we see an ever-increasing trend towards games to learn English throughout the globe! If all the variables and parameters are to be measured, we hope to see a continuation of such a trend in the future!
